Eric

A Year with Susan and Nick:

January: For New Years, we get family and friends together at our house to play games and enjoy soup.  Susan enjoys experimenting with new soup recipes and then letting our friends sample them.
February:  We like to get gifts for each other and spend some time together for Valentine’s Day.  Susan’s mom started the tradition of Valentine’s Day gifts when she was little, and it has stuck ever since.
March:  Girl Scout cookies, gotta have em.  Nick loves the Samoas, and Susan loves the Thin Mints especially!
April: Spring skiing is the life!  We enjoy skiing in the winter as well, but in the spring, the canyons aren’t as bitter cold.  Also, by April we are ready to ski the black diamond.  Every year, we get nervous about hitting the slopes again and then work our way up to be more daring, only to put the skis away and forget how adventurous we once were.
May: We haven’t figured this one out yet, but our birthdays are in April and June.  We invite family and friends over for a party in the style of our choice.  One of our favorites is playing Mop.  Mop is a tag like game, where we make the house dark, and the person who is it has to stay on the wood (hard floor) with the mop in hand.  The other players run from carpet or furniture and risk being caught on the hard floor.
June:  Our anniversary falls in the beginning of June.  We travel somewhere new every time.
July: Every year on Independence Day, we ride our bicycle to near Susan’s mom’s and meet family and friends along the parade route.  After the parade, we attend the booths at the Freedom Festival.  We finish the day off by riding our bikes to watch a large firework show.
August: School starts… that means math and seminary!
September: Our large tree begins to lose a small amount of leaves at this time, and it doesn’t stop until sometime in December.  October: Halloween time… Susan loves to dress up.  Nick is good at scaring the trick-o-treaters.  He used to work at haunted houses.  Now, we go to Susan’s mom’s, where she gets over 300 trick-o-treaters.
November: Nick’s family has a huge Thanksgiving meal which we drive up to Idaho to attend.
December: Christmas so far has included Disneyland with Nick’s sister’s family and Disneyworld with Susan’s dad and brother.
